New: M.I.T.-Mission support added for Jan Peter Dijkstra add-on devices.
You can now set your mission to an M.I.T. mission ranging from 20 to 999
and assign the mission the values I and T (both range from 0 to 500)
HOST 3.20 will allow these values to be set.
This was added for 3rd party add-on people, I have no plans of using
them. This will help to stop need for so many special friendly codes
to activate 3rd party devices.
To access the MIT extended missions you click on the extended missions
button on the bottom of the mission select screen. This will bring up
a list of 3rd party missions and the three boxes:
Mission (Range 20 to 999)
Intercept (Range 0 to 500)
Tow (Range 0 to 500)
WINPLAN reads the file MISSION.INI in the VPWORK? directory. Missions
found in the MISSION.INI file are added to the list box. If a mission
listed in the list box is clicked on the mission number is moved to
the mission number box at the bottem of the screen. You enter the
intercept and tow numbers (if required by the mission) into the
other two boxes. HOST 3.20 will ignore all mission numbers
from 20 to 999.
The format of the MISSION.INI is as follows:
1. It is a standard text file
2. The first 3 characters must be the mission number
3. If the line contains the character * the mission requires
a intercept number.
4. If the line contains the character # the mission requires
a tow number
5. The * and # characters will not be displayed in the list box.
6. You can pick which race(s) the mission applies to by adding a /123456789ab command option after the mission name and *# charactors. Place the race(s) ID number after the / to tell the mission list which race(s) can do this mission. If this is option is left out the mission will apply to all races. All text to the right of the / will not be displayed in the list box.
This is a sample of missions in the MISSION.INI file:
25 Scan planet for tronya
101 Open Jump Gate
102 Jump to jump gate*#
104 Attach jumpgate#
105 Go real fast/345
107 Flap your wings/3
110 Look at alien machine
Note: In the above example mission number 102 requires both an Intercept and a Tow number. Mission 104 requires a Tow number. Mission 107 will only be displayed to player 3. Mission number 105 will only be seen by race 3, race 4 and race 5.
